Despite coming from a low-income household, this child had lofty aspirations that he firmly believed in.
Despite a number of challenges, he never gave up on his dreams and succeeded in achieving them.
Today, the boy is a well-known comedian, a renowned TV host, an excellent writer, and a successful businessman.
This little African-American boy had a clear desire to appear on television from an early age. His life’s philosophy was to set lofty goals and have faith in his eventual success. Thus, the child, despite his stammer, clung to his ambitions of appearing on television.
The boy was born on January 17, 1957, in Welch, West Virginia, to Sunday school teacher Eloise Vera Harvey and coal miner father Jesse Harvey. Cleveland, Ohio, was the boy’s childhood home, and he still holds special feelings for the city.
The boy’s path to success wasn’t simple, but he never gave up on his goals. When he was ten years old, the youngster wrote on a piece of paper that he would one day be on television. At the age of 38, he made his TV debut. He is now a radio personality, businessman, philanthropist, motivational speaker, Emmy Award-winning entertainment, and best-selling author in the New York Times.
The boy has succeeded in spite of everything. Despite coming from impoverished parents, he never let that deter him from having high aspirations. His father was a coal miner who made $5 a day, and he had five children. Up until the age of sixteen, the youngster also labored on the West Virginia farm owned by his grandfather and uncle. He told the story:
I was homeless, I failed out of school, and I was raised in extreme poverty. I spent three years living in a car. I purchased a used car at the age of 38, which was the first vehicle ever registered in my name.
The youngster was five years old when he first saw a real toilet with a flush because his family was so impoverished. Still, the youngster achieved success. If he was successful, he would give thanks to God and exalt his name. As a well-known person today, the young performer keeps his word to God by thanking his fans at the conclusion of each performance.
When he was homeless and hiding in a hotel bathroom to clean up, it suddenly occurred to him that he was at the lowest moment of his life.
This boy’s mother taught him the value of wearing nicely and taking care of one’s appearance, as well as how to embrace God. The boy’s siblings reported that he acts just like his father and that his mother was a kind, nonjudgmental angel.
Now, other people with speech impairments look up to the youngster. This youngster told me that he used to stutter so severely but that he now inspires others by saying that it is treatable and that they can lead regular lives just like he has if they get the correct support. The youngster, who was destitute and stuttering, is now a well-known millionaire.
Steve Harvey is the boy who went from poverty to wealth. When Steve shocked the crowd with a performance at an open mic comedy night in 1985, that’s when his comedy career began. He left his work the following day to pursue a career as a comedian, but this decision caused him to split from his wife. The comic discovered that he was surviving on as little as $50 per week, without a job or a wife.
At the age of 27, Steve began his career in professional comedy after quitting his job to pursue his comedic dreams. He acknowledged that he lived in his car as a homeless person between the ages of 30 and 33. He now inspires others to never give up on their aspirations by sharing his journey of struggle and achievement.
Steve didn’t even own the automobile he lived in. It was an old, used automobile that his father had given to him. Upon his eventual appearance on television, Steve utilized the proceeds from the show to purchase a car at the age of 38. He recalled that he had nothing when he was homeless, but that he is now providing for himself.
Steve wasn’t convinced he would succeed despite his diligence and tenacity. Although he had always intended to escape poverty and hardship, his level of accomplishment has far exceeded his wildest expectations. He said, “My imagination didn’t even go this big.”
Steve remembered how close he came to quitting. When he was homeless and hiding in a hotel bathroom to clean up, it suddenly occurred to him that he was at the lowest moment of his life. He took a seat and began to cry, but something compelled him to press on. Steve believed this to be God’s voice informing him that he would lead him to uncharted territory.
Not long after this trying time, Steve started to get opportunities. His victory in a national comedy competition in 1990 helped him land a high-profile part in 1993, first on “Showtime at the Apollo,” and then on a sitcom.
From that point on, the comic was presented with more opportunities. He is currently regarded as Hollywood’s busiest man, a television mainstay who hosts his own show. In terms of his family, Steve is content with his wife and leads a fulfilling life.
Steve and Marjorie Harvey are wed. When he first encountered Marjorie in 1987 at a comedy club in Memphis, he was taken aback by her. Steve gave Marjorie a strange look when she arrived late to the show, but he remarked, “I don’t know who you are, but I’m going to marry you one day.”
But after their initial encounter, the two lost contact. Years later, through a mutual friend, they were reunited and have remained together ever since. After a year of dating, the comedian asked Marjorie to marry him. The couple tied the knot on June 25, 2007.
Steve opened out to Marjorie on their fifteenth wedding anniversary, telling her that she brought him serenity and happiness. He went on to say that Marjorie was a better parent than he was and that she handled parenthood well. “Without God’s grace, you are the main reason I am where I am today.” You’re the one,” he said in closing.
Steve’s family, which consists of seven children and seven grandchildren, is now his biggest achievement. Being a family man, he once said on Facebook that the reason he gets out of bed in the morning is because of his grandchildren. Steve has lovingly and happily cultivated a home and family life with Marjorie.
