When the groom realized why the dog had abruptly bitten the bride’s hand during the wedding, he called off the event
With flowers, music, well-dressed guests, and the bride’s dazzling white gown, the day was supposed to be ideal. The groom appeared content as he stood next to his devoted dog, Roy, whom he had trained to go wherever with him. The owner even regarded Roy as a member of his family because he was a calm, kind dog and a loyal companion.
However, it was obvious that the bride disliked Roy. When the dog approached, she winced, complained that he “smelled like dog,” and insisted that he be taken away. The bride was steadfast, despite the groom’s attempts to diffuse the situation by claiming Roy wouldn’t spoil the festivities.
The bride became increasingly aggressive during the ceremony, yelling at the groom’s mother, making fun of a guest’s gift, and then beginning to drink too much champagne. Her actions embarrassed the groom, but he tried not to show it because it was a wonderful day.
However, something unexpected soon occurred. Despite his calm and loving nature, the dog abruptly nipped the bride’s hand. The bride screamed and reached for a bottle to strike the dog, but the groom stopped her. He just called off the wedding after realizing why the dog had bitten her.
The moment Roy was standing quietly beside his master was the highlight. The bride walked up to the dog and purposefully trod on Roy’s tail while staring directly into the groom’s eyes. In self-defense, the dog yelled and bit the bride’s hand. Everybody froze.
The bride let out a painful scream, picked up a bottle from the table, and got ready to strike the dog.
The groom retorted, “Don’t touch my dog; you provoked him yourself.”
“I accidentally stepped on his tail!” the bride said, her face contorted in rage.
“Unintentionally?” The bridegroom gave her a direct glance. “Did you also intend to accidentally strike him with the bottle?”
Stunned, the bride attempted to defend herself:
“My hand hurt, and I had no idea what I was doing.” It was all shock.
Roy, who was shaking and putting his ears back, was crouching next the groom.
“What’s the shock?” He said icily. “Do you consistently strike people who are weaker than you?”
The bride was unable to speak as she stood with her damaged hand.
The groom got to his feet and spoke steadily:
“The wedding will not take place.”
As the visitors, still in amazement, just stared at one another, he gave Roy a strong hug, and Roy kissed his hand as though he was grateful for the protection.
Do you believe the groom made the correct decision?
